Prince Edward opens Richmond Letcombe Regis

HRH Prince Edward has today officially opened Richmond Letcombe Regis, the retirement village we recently completed, our second for Richmond Villages.

Village manager Elisabeth Parker said: “We had the most lovely day. He had lunch with us and then visited residents in their apartments and everybody in the care home. He was clearly well informed and very interested. It meant an enormous amount to the residents that he came and spent time talking to them. He made a very charming and amusing speech before pulling the curtains and unveiling the plaque.”

After the Prince met resident Margaret Howard, 84, she said: “It was a real honour to welcome him into my new home, which he was very impressed with.”

The village includes a spa and swimming pool, gym, health and beauty treatment rooms, a hair salon, a lakeside restaurant, an IT and crafts room, a library, a bowling green, lakeside gardens and a nature reserve.
